Turn-by-turn directions from various parts of Fairfax County, Virginia

Remember that we are in "Lorton, Virginia" for purposes of GPS device data entry

From points north of Springfield, Virginia and inside the Capital Beltway

Take either Interstate 395, Interstate 95 or Interstate 495 Outer Loop (whichever you are closest to) to Interstate 95 South to Exit 166-A ("Newington/Ft. Belvoir").  Follow the exit ramp around and go through 3 traffic lights.  Exit at 'Telegraph Road - Route 611' exit on the right shortly after the third light.  Turn left at the end of this exit ramp and go a little less than a mile (0.9 miles) to a right turn into our entrance, the third entrance on the right after Accotink Road, just after the small stone-faced house, at a small blue sign indicating "8309" (on the telephone pole) at our entrance (about a 100 yards before the traffic light at Newington Road).

Option for those coming from Old Town Alexandria:  Proceed south on Route 1 past entrances for Fort Belvoir.  Turn right (north) on the Fairfax County Parkway, just past the intersection for Backlick Road.  Take the exit for Telegraph Road - Route 611, turning right at the end of the exit ramp onto Telegraph Road north.  Go three-quarters of a mile to a right turn into our entrance, the third entrance on the right after Accotink Road, just after the small stone-faced house, at a small blue sign indicating "8309" on the telephone pole at our entrance (just before the traffic light at Newington Road).

From Fairfax, Chantilly, Reston and points west of Springfield, Virginia

Quickest route:  New directions using recently completed segment of the Fairfax County Parkway
(NOTE:  if your GPS map database is not updated through 2011, this will not show up on your navigation device)

Take the Fairfax County Parkway (Route 7100), following signs for Springfield and points south and east.  Exit at Rolling Road and stay in the main lanes of the four lane highway you'll merge onto.  This is the new continuation of the Fairfax County Parkway (you are still on Route 7100 South).  Follow the Parkway for approximately three miles to the Telegraph Road exit on right.

Alternate directions via Route 7900 & Beulah Street (also bike directions from Springfield Metro)
(NOTE:  for older GPS devices and out-of-date maps)

Take the Fairfax County Parkway (Route 7100), following signs for Springfield and points south and east.  Follow the Parkway until it changes names going under Rolling Road - you will now be on the 'Franconia-Springfield Parkway' (Route 7900) - it's just a name change, not an exit.  After passing over the I-95 interchange, Springfield Mall (on your left) and the Springfield Metrorail station (on the right), you will turn right at Beulah Street.  Follow that road south until you get to Telegraph Road, then turn right onto Telegraph Road immediately after the Red Hot & Blue restaurant.  After passing through the light at Newington Road, you will make a U-turn at Accotink Road.  After the U-turn, turn right into our entrance, the third entrance on the right after Accotink Road, at a small blue sign indicating "8309" on the telephone pole at our entrance (about 100 yards before the traffic light at Newington Road).

Option for those near the Beltway:  Use "Inside the Capital Beltway" directions above and take the Capital Beltway Interstate 495 Outer Loop to I-95 south.  Not recommended during afternoon rush hour.
