GENERAL RESUME AND PROFILE

Mr. Kessler has over 26 years of experience in residential and commercial land development engineering and land planning in the Northern Virginia Area with responsibilities ranging from the managing of the land development operations and engineering for GJB Engineering Inc., where for the past 12 years, he has applied his previous knowledge and experience to the infill engineering and development industry that is taking over Northern Virginia.  In this capacity, he oversees the site and subdivision engineering plan preparation and processing for a variety of projects in the Northern Virginia area.

Most recently in the past three years, Mr. Kessler has combined his passion for plants and landscaping to a specialization in water quality management under the Chesapeake Bay Preservation Ordinance and the associated Best Management Practices as an expert in water quality design.  With the majority of the infill residential projects requiring some type of mitigation to address water quality, his combined knowledge and expertise allows him to create aesthetically pleasing and cost-effective custom approaches on each residential subdivision, grading plan or commercial site plan project he manages.

With a prior real estate development and construction experience in the commercial, industrial and single family home building industry, combined with his engineering background, Patrick brings a unique blend of thought, practical application and value engineering to projects.  He has an understanding of the surveying aspect of project design and layout from early years spent on a survey crew at the beginning of his career.  Mr. Kessler is also a licensed real estate agent n the Commonwealth of Virginia, which lends him perspective not usually available to the average engineer or project manager on a land development engineering team.

Some of the projects which Mr. Kessler has been involved in the design of, with prior firms (such as Rinker–Detwiler & Associates, christopher consultants and Dewberry and Davis) include: Countryside, Brambleton and Cascades in Loudoun County and Virginia Run and Sully Station II in Fairfax, which account for over 15,000 homes and many miles of public and private roadway.  With GJB Engineering Inc., Patrick has managed the engineering of a diverse list of local infill projects such fast-food restaurants, school additions, marina renovations, custom/high-end small residential subdivisions, adaptive use projects such as the design of a driving range on an former land fill site, and a parkland sea wall.
