Most recently, in the past decade, Mr. Kessler has combined
his passion for landscaping and engineering into a specialization in
Water Quality Management as a local expert on the Chesapeake Bay
Preservation Ordinance and the
associated
Best Management Practices of water quality design.
With
the majority of the infill commercial and residential projects
requiring water quality management, his combined knowledge and
expertise
allows him to create aesthetically pleasing and cost-effective custom
approaches
on each residential subdivision, grading plan or commercial site plan
project
he designs.
A strong background in residential community design and planning, Mr. Kessler has been involved in the design of (with prior firms such as Rinker–Detwiler & Associates, christopher consultants and Dewberry & Davis) communities such as Countryside, Brambleton and Cascades in Loudoun County and Virginia Run and Sully Station II in Fairfax - over 15,000 homes and miles of public and private roadway design. With GJB Engineering Inc., Patrick has managed the engineering of a diverse list of local infill projects such fast-food restaurants, school additions, marina renovations, custom/high-end small residential subdivisions, adaptive use projects such as the design of a driving range on an former land fill site, and a parkland sea wall.
Combined with his prior construction and surveying experience, Mr.
Kessler brings a unique blend of

practical application and value engineering to projects. Also a
licensed real estate agent in the Commonwealth of
Virginia, Pat brings a perspective not usually available to the
average
engineer or project manager to a land development engineering
team.
